Azores – Sete Cidades and Lagoa do Fogo

Tour Description

The day begins with a visit to the traditional pineapple greenhouses, biological culture developed in glasshouses, wherein in the end you will taste its famous artisan liquor.
The trip continues towards the Seven Cities by the Peak of the Charcoal, a privileged place to observe the beautiful green landscape of the narrowest part of the Island and its back, followed by a stop at the viewpoint of Vista do Rei where you can have a breathtaking view of the Seven Cities crater and its beautiful Blue and Green lagoons.
You begin the descent to the interior of the crater, where you will marvel at the lagoon of Santiago, a stop that precedes the arrival at the picturesque parish of the Sete Cidades, where you can visit its center.

Stop for lunch in a typical restaurant.

The tour continues towards the city of Ribeira Grande with a stop in its historical center where you will have the opportunity to enjoy the famous liquors produced with fruits of the island. We continue with the ascent to Pico da Barrosa (one of the highest peaks of the Island), along the north coast. The first stop provides a short walk along the Caldeira Velha, one of the Island’s Natural Reserves, where you can enjoy a bath in a hot waterfall … continuing the climb we stop at the belvedere of Lagoa do Fogo which provides one of the most extraordinary views over the Lagoa do Fogo. The return to Ponta Delgada takes place down the south slope of Pico da Barrosa on a road from which one has a panoramic view over the central part of the Island.
